**DATE CHANGE** Making Tax Digital

  • When: January 30, 2019 8:30 am - 10:30 am
  • Where: Crowe U.K. LLP, 3rd floor, The Lexicon, Mount Street, Manchester, M2 5NT
  • Summary: Make sure you are ready for HMRC digitising tax with this seminar in partnership with Crowe
  • Details:

VAT is at the forefront of HMRC’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) plans which aim to make HMRC into a “world leading, digital tax authority”, and is expected to be the most fundamental change to the tax administration system in 20 years.  Changes will mean that organisations with a taxable turnover above the VAT registration threshold will have to:

    Keep their VAT records digitally
Submit their VAT data to HMRC through compatible software, not through the HMRC online portal.

But with less than six months to go, HMRC have confirmed a deferral on the implementation date, to 1 October 2019 for complex organisations.  This deferral will be welcome news to a significant number of more than 600 attendees of our recent MTD for VAT webinar, who indicated that the complexity of their VAT arrangements meant that they felt that there was insufficient time to prepare for the changes.
