Revised Guide to the Preparation and Service of Bundles, Skeleton Arguments and Authorities in the Business and Property Courts in Manchester

  • 09/09/2021

Please download the latest version of the Guide to the Preparation and Service of Bundles, Skeleton Arguments and Authorities in the Business and Property Courts in Manchester, revising and replacing the Guide published last November.

The Guide reflects the fact that we are beginning to return to face-to-face hearings, and it seeks to build on the effective use that we have been able to make of electronic bundles during the pandemic.

The principal differences over the earlier guide are:

  1. It requires a core bundle where the bundle would otherwise exceed 350 pages
  2. Save where the court otherwise directs, it requires hard copy bundles to be lodged in the case of a hearing listed for two days or more;
  3. It contains specific guidance with regard to the use of bundles by witnesses; and
  4. It includes more detailed guidance with regard to the formatting and contents of electronic bundles modelled on the guide produced for the Administrative Court. Unfortunately, electronic bundles too often continue to be put together in an unhelpful and not readily usable way. This ought to be avoided if the new guidance is followed.
