FAO Civil Practitioners

  • 26/05/2021

A small working party, set up by HHJJ Bird and led by Richard Whitehall from Deans Court, has been formed to set the Manchester Civil Justice Centre’s approach and directions relating to large loss remote hearings in the future. Whilst this has a Northern Circuit focus, if you are not based in Manchester but have any cases in Manchester your support in completing the survey below would be most appreciated.

We are interested to hear the views of circuit practitioners as to the suitability of certain hearings to be heard remotely in the future, after the Covid-19 crisis is over.  We are interested in CCMCs, multi-track settlement approval hearings and other application hearings.

I would be very grateful if you could complete the survey below.  It will take a few minutes of your time only.

The aim of this survey is to obtain your views so that we can present them in the course of discussions with our DCJs on the future of remote hearings.  It is not a formal consultation.  The ultimate decision will be based on a range of factors, which will include the court’s resources and other matters.

Please complete this survey by Friday 4th June 2021.

If you have any queries regarding the survey please contact Richard Whitehall on [email protected]
