INDICTABLE OFFENCES – NOTE FOR ALL DEFENCE PRACTITIONERS

Could all members in the Defence community of Greater Manchester please note that plans are being made to deal with cases involving Defendants who have been charged/summons/postal requisitioned to appear before the Magistrates court with an indictable offence.

The CPS/Court will be in contact with Defence Solicitors in the coming weeks to arrange a listing of these cases. There are a number of cases to deal with in this category and listing will be done in a way that complies with the law and the current social distancing requirements.

It would really assist the process if Solicitors could speak to their clients in the meantime so that they are aware of the progress that is intended to be made in their case,
