SBA THE SOLICITORS CHARITY OUT IN FOR 10K MANCHESTER LEGAL WALK

  • 24/09/2019

SBA The Solicitors’ Charity is following up its impactful presence at this year’s London Legal Walk by backing the Manchester date on 25 September.

The 10km walk, raising vital funds for advice centres in the city, presents the perfect opportunity for the SBA to tell more solicitors about their profession’s charity and encourage more solicitors and firms to help each other in times of need.

The charity has close links with the city and has worked with the Manchester Citizens Advice Bureau for a number of years to ensure solicitors have access to as much information as possible to help them.

Geraldine Stephens, an SBA volunteer, commercial litigation solicitor at Clarke Willmott LLP and president of the Trafford Law Society will be joining the SBA walkers in pink wigs in a bid to get more volunteers on board and to raise awareness of how SBA can help solicitors in times of need.

“Life’s challenges can happen to everyone and legal professionals are no exception, by giving my time to such a worthy cause, I know I’m helping solicitors and their dependents get back on their feet through financial support. This assistance pays for items that many of us take for granted including household repairs, groceries and accommodation. Those who are out of work can also get their careers back on track through a coaching service to boost their job search.

“The Manchester Legal Walk is a wonderful event and I look forward to it every year.  This year the SBA is out in force in our pink wigs so if you’re taking part, make sure you come and say hello so we can give you a little more information about how you might be able to help, or be helped.”
