Advocates Suite to close at Manchester CJC

Manchester CJC Advocates Suite

I apologise for the impersonal nature of this letter, which is the result of a requirement to communicate with a large number of people as efficiently as possible.

As you may know, a number of County Courts within the Greater Manchester area are to be closed over the next 12 months. As a result, it will be necessary to accommodate a significant number of HMCTS staff as well as a number of District Judges in the Manchester CJC. In order to facilitate these changes, it will be necessary to construct a number of additional courts, hearing and retiring rooms within Manchester CJC. As part of this process, it will be necessary to permanently close the Advocates Suite on Level 4 from 5.00 p.m. on 30 September 2016.

The purpose of this letter is to give all practitioners notice of this change and to request the removal of any personal belongings from the Level 4 Advocates Suite well before that date.

From 3 October 2016, the only Advocates Suite in the building will be that located on Level 10. It will not be affected by these changes.

I apologise for any inconvenience that these changes may cause.

Yours faithfully

Mark Pelling,

Chair,

Greater Manchester CFT Local Leadership Group.
