tableThe Lowry Hotel, Manchester is launching a new menu and is changing its name to The River Bar and Grill to reflect the move towards cooking on a new Josper Grill.  Since opening in 2001 the most popular restaurant items sold are steaks and traditional grill items which account for 75% off all main course sales.

Scottish born Andrew Wilkie, Executive Head Chef at The Lowry Hotel has created a contemporary grill menu utilising the best produce available cooked on a Josper Grill, the hottest indoor grill available.

Andrew has sourced the best suppliers both locally and nationally and key ingredients on the new menu include beef sourced from the Duke of Buccleuch Estates, Chicken from Goosenargh, Sea Bass from Anglesey,  our scallops are hand dived in Orkney our lobster is caught in Usan and our smoked salmon is hand smoked in Inverawe.

To ensure the best quality possible when cooking these ingredients the Josper Grill is used, one of the best grills on the market place it  works between a temperature of between 300º (572ºF) and 350º (662ºF).  One of the key benefits is that it has a closing door so when closed whilst cooking ensures that no natural flavours escape during the cooking process.

Starters on the A la Carte menu include Inverawe smoked salmon, dressed East Coast crab and grilled asparagus. Fish dishes include Usan Lobster, Anglesey Sea Bass and North Sea Lemon Sole.

Melowryat lovers can enjoy a full range of steaks from a 275g Flat Iron steak up to a 400g cote de boeuf, new to the menu are dishes to share including a whole Goosnargh Chicken or a 550g Chateaubriand.
