In this one-off lunch time event Fran Eccles-Bech from the Manchester Law Society will be questioning Ivan Lewis on women in politics, diversity, devolution and Manchester.

Ivan was elected in 1997 alongside the intake of what became known as Blair’s Babes. In the last twenty years, both in Government and opposition, he has witnessed many changes in politics. Amongst other things, the 1997 election hit record books for the election of 120 women MPs, doubling the previous 60 elected in 1992.  As we enter a new era with a female Prime Minister and the prospect of the first ever female President, Ivan will be sharing his perspectives on diversity and cultural change.
